The Egyptian government implemented the e-Visa for Egypt in December 2017, in order to expedite the visa application process for travelers to the country for short stays. From this date, citizens of 46 countries, including South Korean passport holders, are required to pre-register an Egypt online visa application before short-term travel to the country.
The e-Visa for South Korean citizens application eliminates the need to get a visa for Egypt from an Egyptian Embassy or Consulate or wait in long queues for an Egypt visa on arrival.
The online Egypt visa from South Korea is available as either a single-entry or multiple-entry e-visa for Egypt.
The simple Egypt Online Visa Application takes just minutes to complete. Applicants will need to meet the e-Visa for Egypt requirements for South Korea, answer a series of security questions, and pay the Egypt online visa fee using a credit or debit card.
From December 2017, citizens of 46 countries including all European Union member states, the United States, and South Korea are eligible to apply for the Egypt online visa for stays of up to 30 days.
Previously, South Korean citizens were visa-exempt for short stays in Egypt. However, as of December 2017, it is now required to pre-register for an Egypt online visa for South Koreans for short-term touristic or business visits, or queue at the border for an Egypt visa on arrival.
The single-entry Egypt visa for South Koreans allows for a stay of up to 30 consecutive days within a 90-day validity period. Eligible passport holders can get the single-entry Egypt visa on arrival for South Korea at Egyptian border entry points but this may require waiting in long queues to apply for the visa.
It is not possible to get a multiple-entry Egypt visa on arrival for South Koreans. Those wishing to enter and exit Egypt multiple times for a maximum of 30 days per entry within a 180-day period must apply for the e-Visa Egypt through the online application.
South Koreans traveling to the Red Sea Sinai resorts are eligible to get an e-Visa for Egypt on arrival valid for 15 days from Sharm el-Sheikh, Saint Catherine, or Taba airports.
