What is the Egypt Online Visa?

The Egypt Online Visa, or Egypt e-Visa, is a new electronic travel authorization system for citizens of eligible countries wishing to travel to Egypt for tourism. An e-Visa for Egypt can be obtained through an online application without the need to visit the embassy.

The new electronic visa system was implemented by the Government of Egypt. The Egypt e-Visa aims to simplify the process for visitors to Egypt to obtain the correct travel authorization. The online Egyptian visa program will not only accelerate the process for visa applications prior to traveling but also improve the system of customs and border control upon arrival in Egypt. Allows its holder to visit the country for a maximum duration of 30 days and is valid to use for a period of 3 months.

The e-Visa for Egypt is a single or multiple-entry visa. Allows its holder to visit the country for a maximum duration of 30 days and is valid to use for a period of 3 months. The Egypt e-Visa is a requirement for travelers wishing to visit Egypt for tourism purposes.

To apply for an Egypt e-Visa the applicant will need to complete the online visa application so that he/she may receive the approved e-Visa via email.

Who needs to apply for an e-Visa to Egypt?

An Egyptian visa will be granted to all those who apply online and correctly meet the e-Visa Egypt requirements.

Prior to the implementation of the Egypt e-Visa foreign nationals from the following countries could obtain a visa-on-arrival at any port of entry in Egypt. Now it is possible to obtain an approved e-Visa before departing to their destination in Egypt. The Egyptian e-Visa application process is simple and can be easely completed beofre departure. This will facilitate their entry to the country once they arrive.

The Government of Egypt is constantly updating the list of eligible countries for the Egypt e-Visa and therefore it is recommended to check back with this list before making the application for the online visa for Egypt in case your country of citizenship is added.

If your country of citizenship is not on the list this does not mean you cannot travel to Egypt. You will need to request a traditional visa so that you can enter Egypt territory.

Travel to Egypt with an Egyptian Tourist Visa

To enter Egypt for tourism it is vital that all eligible travelers submit an application for an Egyptian e-Visa before leaving the country of departure. The applicant will receive their confirmed e-Visa for Egypt, via e-mail. The traveler will need to print at least one copy of their approved e-Visa. Upon arrival at the Egyptian port of entry, he/she will be asked to present the approved Egypt e-Visa to the Egyptian Border Control.

The Egypt Online Visa is available for trips to Egypt for tourism purposes. The e-Visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance and the traveller is allowed to stay for a total of 30 days from the date of entry with the e-Visa for Egypt. Travellers can request their tourist visa for Egypt, whether they are planning to enter the country once or several times as this online visa for Egypt is available for one or multiple entries, depending on the travellers choice on their application.

Eligible citizens can apply for an e-Visa before traveling to Egypt. All those carrying an Egypt e-Visa are required to abide by all legislation regarding the e-Visa as well as all Egyptian laws while in the country.
